There is no shortcut.
There is practice.
01
What is Shepherdman?
There is a temple in Japan, and Shinjun Mikami is its resident priest. Inside it there is a dojo — a hall for training.
It is open to the public: not only to people on a religious path, but to anyone willing to put in the work. The standing sessions are in Aomori — see Upcoming.
That work has been carried out in Japan, and in California, in the San Francisco Bay Area. Shepherdman Academy is that same work, now continued as an Academy.

Teachings
Whatever the form, the work follows the same three steps.
- Kata
- Learn the form.
- Praxis
- Practice it every day.
- Michi
- Make it your own path.
